The Raven & The Firefly

It's been a year since Phantasmagoria... a year since the day everything changed. The world is falling apart. The return of magic to the world, and the people in it, has proven to be too much for society to bear. Chaos brews in almost every corner and every shadow. Riots, wars, crimes big and small.

The world simply doesn't understand what has happened to it yet.

Within this emerging chaos, Helena Hollinger wanders the land, searching for answers to who... and -what-... she is. Those travels take her to the decaying outskirts of Thanatos City. And it's here she first hears word of an urban legend and a steadily increasing body count attributed to it.

But what is death incarnate to some... is merely prey to the reborn 'Queen of the Wolves.'

*******************
It's been a while in the coming, I know... Though considering this is a passion project I work on in my spare time, I'd say I'm still making decent time ^_^

The 1st Arc has entered its final phase, once the last scene and editing are done, It'll be released...

Look forward to it coming soon :)

The -irregularly- scheduled update

How goes it everyone? Krescentwolf here.

Yeah I know, it's been a while since i last threw up an update. But I've been working slowly and steadily on the novel... I swear! ^_^

I'd say Arc 1 - The Firefly & The Raven is roughly 75% complete at this point. I've one major scene to write for which the event CG is done.... and then I can start writing and drawing for the final confrontation....

If things keep as they are... The Firefly & The Raven will be 6 or 7 subchapters in length... depending on how long the fight and wrap up section end up being.

While I'm on the subject: Phantasmagoria:TRoMM has 3 main arcs, in addition to a prologue and an epilogue. I call these arcs Chapters, and each chapter is subdivided into subchapters... (1-1, 1-2, 1-3, 1-4 etc.)

Each Arc/Chapter builds off the previous ones, obviously, but they are each more or less independent, with their own villain and story. I wanted to write them as individual stories inside a greater narrative.

Before I leave ya for now, here's the CG I spoke of before... the one I recently finished for what might just be the most important overall scene in the first Arc :)

Also: Here's a mirror-link to the current Prologue Only build of the VN just in case any want it.

Still alive and kickin!

Still trudging along with story writing, so I ain't dead yet! Phantasmagoria has officially claimed it's first casualty... my keyboard! -_-; I was quick to replace it, but it still hurts... they aren't cheap!

Anyway, I'm knee deep in intrigue and confrontation as the storys first major villain, The Raven Master, makes his appearance.

And Helena gets a CG that has more variations than some of the sprites!!  4 expressions and 4 types of sfx, for a  grand total of 24 variation... That's alot of work -_-;

An Art Preview and Status Update

Ysabella
Wiseman

Chapter One "Welcome to the New World" is well under way, with an introduction to the narrator, Wiseman, and to the mentor-character who stars alongside Helena in the game, Ysabella.

My next big task is the sprite for Ysabella...
Sprites are so time consuming to make!

V.011 Quick Update & A Synopsis

A tale of magic revealed to the modern world, and the subsequent chaos that revelation makes, Phantasmagoria stars 'Helena Hollinger' (the girl in light blue pictured above) as she moves through a world in the middle of falling apart. To help her find her way through the chaos, Helena has the fact that her soul has awakened to the memories of its previous life, that of an ancient, pre-historic, hero queen named Azuria. Manifesting as an alternate personality, Azuria aids Helena as the two deal with the powerplays of several powerful 'Phantasms,' or modern magic users, who are trying to carve their will into the crumbling world.

Phantasmagoria - The Record Of Modern Magic

Phantasmagoria.

Noun.

From the French 'fantasme' or phantasm/ghost & '-agorie' or 'production/play'

An optical illusion produced by manipulating light from a special 'magic' lantern. Phantasmagoria, that is what they will call this day. A day when everything changes. When everything taken as fact turns into fiction. A day when everything taken as fiction turns into fact. A day when fantasy and illusion became reality.

A day... when Magic came to the otherwise normal real world.

And slowly, silently, the world goes mad.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And here it is! The first release! Project Cor presents:
Phantasmagoria - The Record of Modern Magic
A contemporary/urban fantasy tale of magic in the real world.

This first release, which you can think of as a sort of beta, only has the story up through the prologue.
I'll be releasing updates as I finish various chapters, so stay tuned!

Welcome to a New World

Hola and G'morn to everyone :)

Welcome to the very first posting of Project CoR's new blog! *Golfclap*

For those wondering, the 'CoR' in Project CoR stands for 'Chronicle of Realms' which is both the title of my first original fiction story, and also something over an over-arching title I use for -all- my stories.

For the moment, Project CoR is dedicated to unleashing a tale called 'Phantasmagoria - The Record of Modern Magic' in a visual novel format. It -is- currently a one man project, so it may take a while, but I have made good progress so far.

If you're skilled in the art of sprite or background making and want to help out, feel free to contact me at ProjectCoR@hotmail.com.

On the off chance you're good with music, don't feel shy about contacting either! Music is the one thing I -can't- do for myself on this project, so for the time being, I've settled for scouring the internet for royalty free music to use.
